1.
Take 250g of butter. 1/3 of the package in my case.
2.
Put a pot onto a cooking plate with a low temperature set.
Put in the butter and 250g of dark chocolate in pieces.
3.
Keep stirring until you get a nice smooth and silky chocolate mix. Be careful the mix doesn't burn.
When it's done (fluid, smooth and silky) remove it from the heat.
4.
Break 4 eggs into a bowl.
You can use a knife to carefully hit and crack the egg in the middle.
5.
Add 100g of brown sugar.
6.
A bag of vanilla sugar.
7.
And a bag of baking powder.
8.
Use a mixer to mix the ingredients until you get a running mixture.
9.
Take another bowl and add 4 spoons of flour.
10.
Then add 4 spoons of cocoa powder and stir everything with a spoon.
11.
Now pour the cocoa mixture into a bowl with egg mixture we prepared earlier, add it gradually while you are mixing (see picture).
12.
Now add the chocolate the same way.
13.
During the process add a cup of sour cream.
14.
Mix it until you get a nice, silky smooth, lump-free mixture.
15.
Turn on the oven and set it to 170C (340F).
Take the cake baking pan and grease the pan on the inside with a piece of butter, including the pan side.
We don't want the cake to stick to the pan, this is why we are applying the butter.
16.
Add 1 spoon of flour into a pan and spread it evenly by shaking and turning the pan.
17.
Pour the mixture into the pan.
18.
Carefully put it into the pre-heated oven.
19.
Let the cake bake for about about 45 minutes.
To check if the dough is ready, you can push a knife in it and if the dough doesn't stay stick to the knife it means it's ready.
20.
Take the cake out of the oven and let it coll down.
Use a knife and start carefully cutting the cake at the first third, when done, cut it at the second and third as well. You can also use special cake cutters like wires.
21.
You should end up with 3 slices.
22.
Pour 1,5 dl (0,6 cup) of milk into a glass.
23.
Add 2 spoons of rum and stir it.
24.
Pour the milk-rum over the bottom cake slice to make it a bit moist.
25.
Now spread jam over the piece you poured the milk-rum on. I used the raspberry jam.
26.
Take the middle slice and put it over the bottom slice (see picture).
27.
Pour a bit of milk-rum over the second slice ...
28.
... and a bit of jam as well.
29.
Moist the top slice with the milk-rum ...
30.
... and put the third slice on top.
31.
Lets now melt some chocolate that will cover the whole cake.
Take a pot and set the low temperature.
Put in the dark chocolate. Better dark chocolate quality, better the cake.
32.
Add a bit of cream. Keep stirring until the chocolate becomes nice, smooth and silky. Be careful not to burn it.
33.
Pour the chocolate all over the cake. It should cover the whole cake. You can use a spatula to help spread the chocolate on the sides of the cake.
34.
That's all enjoy your very own chocolate cake and be proud you made it yourself. You can add some colorful cake accessories and stick some candles in and there's a birthday cake everyone will love.
