I have a MKV video file and SRT file with subtitles.
MKV is a HD video format, SRT is a text file containing subtitles for the video.

When you are done installing, launch the MKV edit program, launch the kvmerge GUI and click add.
5.
Choose the MKV video file you want to add subtitles to and click Open.
I renamed the files to a name of a well known movie so it's easier to imagine the whole process.

The program will now display all the so called tracks that are included in the MKV video file.
Video track, audio track, chapters, subtitles,...

Click add.

8.
Choose the subtitles file and click Open.

The subtitles we just added should now be included in tracks.

All there is left to do now is to name the new file and click the Start muxing button.
11.

Wait a few minutes for the process to do its thing.
