Hi.

I just made some pancakes for my children and I have used just a little oil for that. Can you advice me something else or are you using the same technique? I know we are probably over reacting with this healthy way of life but anyway?

Hi Jenny, use a bit of olive oil. It's still one of the healthiest if not the healthiest oil available. It's a general misconception that olive oil isn't good for cooking and that the heating will make it saturated or trans-fatty (unhealthy kind of oil). The olive oil is in fact highly heat resisting and it doesn't lose its benefits if you don't heat it over the smoking point (when the oil starts smoking).

You can read more about the heating of olive oil here: http://www.oliveoilsource.com/page/heati....

Also if you use teflon pan you almost don't need any oil, so it is still healthy.

So with Teflon pan I can make pancakes without using oil? Are you sure?
