Hey Dreevoo. I hope I will get my 100 credits for asking and registering

Anyway, I just asked myself if I have a phone USB attached to my laptop, does it consume more electricity when it's charging.

Hi and welcome.

Every device that is attached to an USB port of a laptop or desktop computer consumes a certain amount of power. An average smartphone draws about 5 Watts of power and consumes about 10 Watt-hours to get from an empty battery to fully charged. So to answer your question, yes your laptop consumes more electricity when there is a phone attached to its USB port, it's not that significant but it does consume more.
