Blurred text effect with Photoshop

You will learn how to make a blurred text effect on a random word and make it available to edit and modify any time later.

  Author: NikMan | Version: CS6 | 4th November 2012 |

1.

Create a new document and set light blue colour for foreground and black for background colour.

I have created a 1024 x 768 pixels large document.

2.

Then click above on Filter, Render and select Clouds.

You can do this action few more times if you want.

3.

Then select a Horizontal Type Tool (shortcut is key T).

4.

Then select random and big font above.

5.

And also select a white font color.

6.

Then click on a document and type something.

7.

When the text layer will be made, click above on Layer, Layer Style and select Blending Options...

In a new window set the Fill Opacity to the 0%.

Don't close the window ...

8.

Then click on Drop Shadow in the same window.

9.

And first unselect Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow.

10.

Play with drop shadow settings now and check out the result on a document.

I have played only with Size and Spread settings.

Click on OK when finished.

11.

Here is my result.

12.

I pressed Ctrl + T and modified a little bit the size and position of the text layer.

With Enter button Photoshop will accept changes.

13.

There are many easier ways to make this text effect but this is the best one to make it available for additional editing.

Text layer is still editable.

14.

Enjoy.

And happy birthday friend ;)
