How to install Parallels Desktop 7 from a CD

Installing Parallels Desktop is a great way to run your favorite Windows applications on your Apple computer.

First thing's first. Put your Parallels Desktop CD into the Mac's CD/DVD drive slot.

If the installation process doesn't start automatically open the Finder and click the Parallels drive in the left pane under the devices (see picture).

Run the Install from the Parallels Desktop installation CD.

If you get the A new version is available message and you're connected to the Internet click Download and install new version.

Wait for the download to finish.

Then click Continue.

Now click the Continue 3 more times.

Click Agree.

Click Install.

If you are required to enter your Mac OS username and password  do just that and click Install Software.

After the successful installation of Parallels Desktop 7 installation, click Close.

Now you need to enter you Activation key.

You can find the Parallels Desktop activation key on the back of the installation CD sleeve.

Click Activate.

If you don't have the activation key or you haven't bought the Parallels, you can always try them out by clicking Trial button or buy them buy clicking Buy button.

Click OK after the successful activation.

If you want your warranty to start and to get free updates, fill in the required Parallels Desktop registration data.

You can always do that later on, so if you don't want to register Parallels this very moment just click the window and register it at any given time.

Parallels Desktop are now installed on your computer and waiting to install a copy of Windows in them so you will be able to run all the Windows applications you need on your Mac computer. In the forthcoming tutorial, we are going to install Windows 7 in Parallels Desktop. Stay tuned!
