1.

Click System Preferences.

2.

In System Preferences click Mail, Contacts & Calendars icon.

3.

Choose Gmail on the right.

4.

Enter your Gmail account data, like your address and password and click Set Up.

5.

Choose the Gmail services you would like to use in the Mac email client.

6.

And that's it, your Gmail account is now created and ready to be used in the Mac OS X email client.

7.

Launch the Mail app.

8.

To speed up the synchronization of your Gmail emails click Mailbox and choose Synchronize "Google".

9.

And wait for your Gmail emails and folders to finish downloading.

You can now send and receive your emails using the Mail app on your Mac. You can add additional Gmail accounts the same way we added this one.
