Install VLC media player for Mac OS X

VLC is a great media player that doesn't need any extra codecs and can still play any type of media files available.

1.

Open http://www.videolan.org in your Web browser and click Download VLC button.

2.

Wait for VLC to finish downloading.

If you're using Safari Web browser just click the Download button (see picture).

3.

Click the downloaded .dmg installation file ...

You can run it from a Download folder on your computer as well.

4.

... click the vlc.dmg icon on your desktop (see picture).

5.

VLC window opens.

Click and hold VLC icon ...

6.

... and drag and drop it to Application folder shortcut (see picture).

7.

Now open Applications ...

8.

... and run the VLC.

If you can't see the real VLC icon, like in my case, don't worry it will show up eventually.

9.

If you get a warning window, just click Open.

10.

And there's your VLC media player ready to roll.

11.

Find one of your movie files, click it ...

12.

... and drag and drop into marked area.

13.

Your video should start playing immediately.
