You need to make an online survey? No problem, Google Docs got you covered with Google Docs Form.

  Author: mat | Version: | 8th April 2012 |

1.

Sign in to your Gmail account and click Documents in the Google menu (see picture).

Or you can go directly to Google Docs by clicking the following link docs.google.com, but you still need to sign-in to your Google account when asked.

When in Google Docs click create and choose Form.

2.

You are now in a survey editing interface.

Enter a survey/form title and a short text explaining the goal of your survey.

3.

Let's now create a first multiple choice question.

Enter Question Title, choose Multiple choice as a Question type and enter the first answer.

Yes in my case.

Then click Click to add option to add another answer/option.

4.

Enter another answer.

You can add as many answers you want this way. Or to make things even quicker, press Tab key when ever you want to add another answer.

If this is a required question for these survey then choose the Make this a required question option.

To Add another Question, double-click Sample Question 2 (see picture).

5.

Let's now create a question where users can choose more then one option.

Again, enter Question title and description then choose Checboxes.

6.

Enter your options (use Tab key to speed things up) and when you are done, click add "Other" option, so the users can add their own option, if they cannot find among your proposed ones.

7.

Click Done when finished.

8.

Let's now add the 3rd question.

Click Add item and choose Choose from a list (see picture).

9.

Enter your options and click Done.

10.

You can change the look of your survey as well.

Click the Theme button ...

11.

... choose the theme you like ...

12.

... and click Apply.

13.

Your first Google Docs form/survey is done.

14.

You can now copy the url of Google Docs form and send it or share in any way you like, so it reaches the people you want them to answer and submit the form.

You can send the form link via e-mail, share it on Facebook, G+ or any other social platform you like.

15.

If you go back to your Google Docs Home, you should see your form among other documents.

Click it.

16.

A spreadsheet with results people have submitted opens, which is pretty cool thing, as you can now have all the data already in and you can do with them whatever you like.

17.

In the Spreadsheet menu click Form and choose Show summary of responses.

Number next to Form represents how many times your form got answered by users and submitted.

If you want to edit the form, just choose Edit form.

18.

You are now in Summary of responses where you can see results and answers to your questions in a more graphical way.
