The giant wasp has been found on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. This awesome, black and scary looking insect grows to a size of 2 inches (5 cm), which is 3 times bigger then a normal wasp, we are all familiar with.

The new "King of Wasps" is called Megalara garuda and for what researchers say, not one has been found alive so far. The male Megalura garudas grow an impressive long and spiky jaw, which scientists believe they use it to protect larvae in their nests. The giant of all giant wasps still remains a mystery as very little is know on how they live and feed.
