Save Microsoft Word document as HTML for web

Did you know that you can save any MS Word document as a HTML file and then put it on a webserver as an actual webpage?

1.

Open Microsoft Word 2010 and enter any text you want.

2.

In the menu click File and choose Save As.

3.

Choose Web page, Filtered (*.htm;*.html) for a Save as type.

4.

Click Change Title...

5.

Enter the Web Page title and click OK.

6.

If you click Tools and choose Web Options...

7.

You can choose from a range of settings to optimize the web experience. Click OK and then click Save.

8.

If you get such a warning window click OK.

9.

Your document is now saved in a "web ready" HTML file and you're now in a Web Layout view. You can edit the document, just save it when done.

10.

Try and open your .html document in your web browser. You can also put it directly to a web site.

You could theoretically create a whole website using MS Office Word, but it's really not recommended, because the Word adds "tons" of unnecessary code and that's never good thing when building a site.
