Homemade apple strudel recipe

Apple strudel is a popular desert in Austria and in many countries in Europe that once belonged to the Austro-Hungarian empire. Let me walk you through the process of making a tasty apple strudel of your own.

Sugar
Sugar ( 1 cup )
Lemon
Lemon ( 1 piece )
Rum
Rum ( 2 spoon )
Cinnamon
Cinnamon ( 1 teaspoon )
Apple
Apple ( 2 kg )
Butter
Butter ( 30 g )
Bread crumbs
Bread crumbs ( 2 spoon )
Puff pastry
Puff pastry ( 1 bag )
Oil
Oil ( 2 dl )
Powdered sugar
Powdered sugar ( 2 spoon )

 
  Persons : 4 | Preparing: 40 min | Making: 5 min | Cleaning: 4 min

Use plastic dish to scrape the apples.

Take the lemon and scrape the peel.

Add two spoons of rum.

Add half teaspoon of cinnamon.

Add half cup of sugar.

Mix everything together.

On the stove melt 30 g of butter.

When the butter melts add 2 spoons of bread crumbs.

Mix it all the time, until bread crumbs become dark brown.

Turn the stove off.

Take puff pastry.

Take the cloth and spread it over bigger surface.

Take one piece of puff pastry and put it on the cloth.

Pour into the glass 1 dl of oil.

Now grease the oil over the puff pastry with the help of spoon.

Take another piece of puff pastry and put it over the first one.

If you prefere less dough you can use only one piece of puff pastry.

Grease with oil also the second piece of puff pastry.

Now add bread crumbs to the mass with grated apples and mix it all together.

Add bread crumbs to the apples just before you put the mixture on the puff pastry, that the crumbs do not moisturize too much.

Now put the mass over...

...the half of puff pastry.

Now use the cloth to wrap the dough.

Wrap it slowly...

...until the dough is wraped.

Put baking paper in the baking tray and put apple strudel on the paper.

Grease apple strudel on the top with oil.

You can also grease it with whipped egg.

Put the baking tray in the oven at 180 degrees.

Bake it for about 30 to 40 minutes.

Baking time depends of the oven. The best is that after half an hour you check strudel every 10 minutes.

When sturdel is done take it out of the oven.

Don't forget to turn off the oven. ;)

Take powdered sugar and sprinkle it over the strudel.
