Hair transplant using Photoshop

In this amusing lesson we will try to take one man's hair and transplant it to another man's head.

For this lesson you need two pictures. One with a guy without hair ...

It's Patrick Stewart from the 2nd generation of Star Trek.

...and one with a guy with hair (or wig:)).

It's the legendary William Shatner who played the first generation Star Trek captain.

Open both pictures in Photoshop.

Go to the hair picture and choose the Rectangular Marquee Tool.

Select the whole hair area (see picture) and press Ctrl + C to copy the selected area.

Now go to the bald picture and press Ctrl + V to paste the hair on to the picture.

Now press Ctrl + T and adjust the hair to the bald picture (see picture).

Drag the little squares to achieve the perfect fit, if you hold the shift button you wont lose the picture ratio.

Press Enter when satisfied.

Now choose the Magnetic Lasso Tool (see picture).

Or any other selection tool you feel comfortable with.

And start selecting the hair only (see picture).

Select the whole hair area.

In the menu click Select and choose Inverse.

In the new settings window set the Smooth to 2 and Feather to 1.0 px.

 Press the Delete key.

The hair stayed the rest is gone.

Press Ctrl + D to deselect the selection.

Now choose the Eraser Tool (see picture).

And select the same brush as I did. If needed set the appropriate size for we will be doing some fine correction around the hair.

Delete the problem areas.

In the menu click Image, Adjustments and choose Hue/Saturation...

Check the Colorize option and play with the settings to achieve the color you want.

Click OK when done.

Hair job's done!

Nothing wrong with baldness though, the good 'ol Patrick Stewart looks even sexier without hair says my gf :)
