How to merge and split cells in Dreamweaver Table

Tables and cells are an important parts in designing websites. I'll show you the basics of merging and spliting.

1.
 

Create new HTML document.

Click Common and select Table.

 
 
3.
 

Enter Rows: 3, Columns: 3, Table Width: 120 pixels, Border Thickness: 1.

Click OK.

We have created 3x3 table.

Save the document (Ctrl+S).

Select the cells in the first row. Hold Ctrl and select cells you want.

 
 
6.
 

Under Properties click Merges selected cells using spans.

 
 
7.
 

Cells are merged.

Now select last two cells in the last row.

 
 
8.
 

Click Merges selected cells using spans again.

 
 
9.
 

Cells are merged.

 
 
10.
 

Now click in the middle cell.

 
 
11.
 

Under Properties click Splits cell into rows or columns.

 
 
12.
 

At Split cell into: select Columns.

At Number of columns: select 2.

Click OK.

 
 
13.
 

The table is done.
