We will open the picture of globe and after that add custom text around it and after that make some customizations to improve final effect.

  Author: NikMan | Version: CS5 | 6th November 2013 |

1.

Open the picture of globe.

You can find many pictures using Google images if you want.

2.

Select Elliptical Marquee Tool.

3.

Make a selection around the globe like I did.

I have pressed Alt (option on MacOS) key and start dragging it from the centre of globe. Try it if you want to make more precise selection.

4.

After that click on Paths tab and click on Make work path from selection.

5.

Select Horizontal Type Tool (T).

6.

Select above custom and pretty large font.

7.

And also select some custom color.

8.

Click on path around the globe.

It will show you the possibility of typing on path.

9.

And type anything you want and confirm it.

Don't mind the length of text, because we will modify it later.

10.

We will modify the distance between characters now.

Double click on thumbnail of text layer to select the text.

11.

Now press Alt (option on MacOS) and left or right arrow keys to modify the distance between characters in text.

12.

Press Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and H together to remove the paths.

13.

Press Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and T keys to enter into transformation mode.

14.

Press and hold Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and Alt (Option on MacOS) keys and transform text layer like I did.

Play a little if you have problems. It shouldn't take too much time in this step.

Confirm the transformation.

15.

Click on Add layer mask.

16.

Select Brush Tool (B).

17.

Start brushing over the text you want to disappear.

In my case I want to remove the text which supposed to be behind the globe.

18.

My example till now.

19.

Click above on Layer, Layer Style and choose Gradient Overlay...

Set the same settings like I did and press OK.

20.

We are finished.
