Snow is behind the doors in many countries on the north part of our beautiful planet. So why not bringing it also into the digital world.

1.

Create random sized document.

I have created document with dimensions 1024 x 768 pixels.

Then click above on Edit and select Fill...

Set Use to Color... and choose any color you want and then press OK twice.

2.

Select Horizontal Type Tool (T).

3.

Then select random text color (see my pic).

If you will be not satisfied at the end with color setting you can always repeat the whole tutorial.

4.

Click on document and write something random.

5.

We will add snow now.

Select Lasso Tool (L).

6.

Above select Add to selection.

7.

And make selection on the text (see my pic).

Because you have selected Add to selection in step 6, you don't have to press Shift or Ctrl (Command on MacOS) keys.

8.

Click above on Select, Modify and select Feather...

In a new window set Feather Radius to 3 pixels in click OK.

9.

After that click on Channels tab and click Create new channel.

10.

Press D and then X key to select white color.

Press Alt (Option key on MacOS) and Delete to fill the selected area with white color.

Click above on Select and choose Deselect.

11.

After that click above on Filter, Blur and choose Gaussian Blur...

Set Radius 3 pixels and click OK.

12.

Press Ctrl (Command on MacOS) and L keys to open Levels window.

After that move all three sliders like I did (see my pic) and click OK.

13.

Select Layers tab again and click Create a new layer.

14.

Click above on Select and choose Load Selection...

Set Channel Alpha 1 and click OK.

15.

You have open the selection from the beginning.

Then click above on Edit and select Fill...

Set Use to White and press OK.

16.

Click above on Layer, Layer Style and choose Bevel and Emboss...

Set the same settings like I did and click OK.

17.

Snow is created. Now we will add one simple stroke to the layer below to make final result better.

Select text layer (see my pic).

18.

Click above on LayerLayer Style and choose Stroke...

Set the same settings like I did and click OK.

19.

And we are finished.
