Purple Gradient Over Black & White photograph
Pretty much a simple Photoshop tutorial where you will open a random photo and apply purple gradient overlay to make it look interesting.

Click above on Image, Adjustments and select Desaturate.
|
|
|

Click above on Image, Adjustments and select Brightness/Contrast.
Set up the same values like I did and press OK button.

Press D key to select Black and White colors.
Then click on Set foreground color ...
|
|

... and select a purple color.
Press OK button.

Select Gradient Tool (G).
|
|
|

Click on gradient picker ...
|
|
|

|
|
|
... and select Foreground to Transparent.
|
|
|

|
|
Then choose a random gradient mode.
|
|
|

|
|
And draw it on a new layer.
Use history to correct mistakes. Click above on Window and choose History.
|

Set up the blending mode to Overlay on a new layer.
