Scientific mode in Windows Calculator

By default Windows calculator doesn't support order of operation, to enable the functionality you need to activate the scientific view, let me show you how.

1.

Open the Windows calculator.

You can launch the same way as I did, click Start button, enter calc.exe into Search program and files window and press Enter.

2.

If you now enter 5 + 5 * 5 you get 50 as the result.

Which is wrong, as calculator in standard mode doesn't support priority of operation.

3.

Now click View and choose Scientific.

4.

As you can see a lot's of new options and operations have appeared.

5.

Again calculate 5 + 5 * 5 and the result is now 30 which is correct, as with the Scientific view among other things, you also get the priority of operations functionality.

Enabling the scientific mode in the Windows Calculator indeed provides access to more advanced features, including order of operations functionality. This can be quite useful for more complex calculations https://drift-hunters.org
